Almost never a buyer.
We’re constantly car shopping because we have needs that aren’t fulfilled by the Kia. So now we’re talking about a truck, but my wife wants one that “rides nice, and isn’t too expensive. Heather’s truck (an 04 Silverado on 22s) is so stiff”
Which brings me to this:
It’s a Sonic dealer so there’s no negotiation on the price, but as far as Ridgelines go, the price is very, very nice. Base model, but we don’t need power seats and we’d have a sunroof put in it by my work anyway.
My boss has an 08 with 300k poorly maintained miles.
So...
What say ye, oppo?
Is the 5-speed auto significantly improved in this car/truck?

From what I hear, Ridgelines aren’t bad for what they are.

It’s a Pilot with a bed instead of a third row/cargo hatch. I’m OK with that and the few I’ve driven aren’t bad. Seats are Honda-firm and the ride is not bad...

I love my dad’s ridgeline. His is an 05 with almost 200k miles on it and it’s still going strong

It’s more than just a Pilot with a bed. It has a ladder-frame chassis and a bespoke powertrain.

Try the next generation of Silverado.

That I didn’t know. That adds to the desire.

I’m pretty sure they are a unibody, not a ladder frame. Thus the reason for the weird bed shape.

Could try a Silverado that isn’t on 22’s? I suspect that might help a bit...

Huh, I could have sworn I read somewhere it had a ladder frame chassis. At the very least it’s modified from the original to benefit a truck.

True, but she wants something smaller because she’ll have to drive it from time to time. Also when it comes to full size trucks I prefer Ford or Dodge anyway.

Found this...it’s built kind of like the Jeep Comanche. Unibody up front with a more traditional ladder frame style in the rear

Have you cross shopped and had her test drive an F-150 or Ram?
Maybe you guys should look for a Dakota?
I just dislike the connected bed on the honda, that’s my only complaint. A buddy of mine was actually telling me just yesterday how he had a Ridgeline for 40k miles and loved it (his was a high trim option though)

This truck is ridiculously practical, and the bed is bigger than it looks from pictures. My boss has one and it was fairly comfortable for 5 adults to ride in for 2 hours.

I've heard they're pretty good. My dad loves those, and he said he might consider the new one when it comes out if it's anything like the new Pilot.

Aside from what looks like a nasty dent on the passenger door, it looks like a really nice crossover-truck thingy.

WhiteTrashSteve... I don’t know man, thats 7 years old and still expensive for a base model anything... Its like you could shop into the tacoma territory for that kinda money. (Reference: I Was helping my buddy argue new vs used Tacos for a while)
